Superstore
I realized that I promoted the T&T Supermarket and it would only be fair if another introduction to a equally cheap market: Superstore. That way, people will be able to compare the two supermarkets! Like the T&T Supermarket, Superstore offers a wide variety of foods including vegetables, snacks, and meat! Not only does it supply food for people to eat, but it also has its very own electronics department. There, you can find cameras, gaming systems, ipods, etc. The web designers of Superstore are also very creative, as they provide recipes for shoppers to use at home. Such ingredients could be found in Superstore and as a result, they are able to increase their sales and at the same time, provide yummy recipes for shoppers to use at home. It's operating hours start from 7am in the morning to 11pm at night. There is also a large and convenient parking lot right underneath the supermarket so that shoppers will be able to find a parking spot easily. However, during peak times, there are still cars that must wait for a spot. Moreover, because the Superstore is located on no3 road, some people may find it a hassle to wait for the busy traffic to clear before you can leave or enter. However, competent drivers will not have this problem. All in all, this is a great supermarket, with a wide variety of products (I mean they even have an electronics department, what kind of supermarket has that!), a convenient parking lot and location, and long operating hours to provide for shoppers.

2010 Winter Olympics
The 2010 Winter Olympics is an experience that all Richmond and Vancouver citizens will remember for the rest of their lives. Imagine... Streets filled with people cheering and laughing, children running recklessly along the busiest of streets (of course, these streets were closed off), and seeing hundreds, if not thousands, of people cheering Canada on as we competed against the mighty Americans for the Gold Medal in the Men's Hockey game. Of course, they were mighty, but we were just mightier. The excitement, the joy, the passion that Canadians have for hockey and the Winter Olympics is indescribable. A picture is worth a thousand words. You have to see it, to believe it.Look at that. Look at how many people there are on one of the busiest streets in Vancouver. In addition to the excitement that was everywhere, Richmond even had our very own Olympic Stadium, The Richmond Olympic Oval.It is now open to public and from 6am to 9pm on Mondays to Fridays and 8am to 8pm on Weekends and Holidays. Before the 2010 Winter Olympics, the oval also hosted a badminton event and invited world class players to come and play badminton. Taufik Hidayat was one of the players that came to the oval to show off his insane backhand smash. During the Winter Olympics, this stadium was the host of the long track speed skating events. For sure, everyone will forget this long lasting legacy. Hopefully one day, the streets in Richmond and Vancouver will once again be as jam packed and exciting as it was during the Olympic times.

Canada Line
A bus fare ticket in Richmond for students, $1.75. A ticket for 2 zones for students, $2.50. Not having to wait half an hour because you missed your bus, priceless. On August 17th 2009, Richmond took a giant leap forward in advanced technology as the Canada Line finally opened. This sky train links Downtown to Richmond and the YVR Airport. The price? It costs just as much as traveling by bus. So what did the Canada Line bring us? A faster, more reliable AND frequent source of transportation that connects local Richmond citizens to Downtown Vancouver. It takes 25 minutes to get from Richmond Brighouse (the station across Richmond Centre) to Waterfront station. In addition, the sky train comes as frequent as every 4 minutes during peak hours and every 10 minutes after 11:00pm. Buses come every 15 minutes, even during busy times! It takes 13 stations to get from Waterfront to Richmond Brighouse and passes by some of the most visited places, such as Aberdeen, Broadway, and Yaletown. The best part is you don't have to pay for parking when you go Downtown. Simply park your car at a parknride, walk, bus, or get a ride to a close station, and sky train down to wherever you need to go! So turn off your cars, get a bus pass, and start sky training to the places you need to go! It's cheap and more environmentally friendly than driving your own car!

T&T Supermarket
Cooking at home tonight? Well T&T is the way to go! They have a vegetable, seafood, fresh meat, dried goods, and much more sections that provide delicious items. They even have a Sushi bar that offers freshly made foods at a reasonable price. The Richmond branch of T&T Supermarket was opened in 1993 and was the second branch to open. In total, there are 18 T&T Supermarket stores in all of Canada. In addition to their well known reputation, they also offer the option to order sushi or cake over the internet. Their program on the internet is efficient and easy to use. They first ask you to choose a branch near them and after, there are images of the cakes they have available, with the size and price of the cakes. The same can be said for their sushi orders. You choose a convenient location and they will provide information regarding their offered party trays. Each week, they have special offers. For four days only, they are offering seedless watermelon for 36 cents per pound. For a full list of current specials, you can visit their website http://www.tnt-supermarket.com/big5/index.php. So, if you need to go grocery shopping, stop going to Safeway or Save-on-Foods and give T&T Supermarket a try!

Aberdeen Centre
Aberdeen is another mall located on No.3 road. It is beside Parker Place. Aberdeen is another very Chinese oriented mall. The centre is made up of three levels and has a relatively large parking space. One of the most convenient stores in Aberdeen is Daiso, as it sells a variety of products at a low price. Outside Daiso is the fountain, where every certain time interval, it will begin a water show to entertain the shoppers. On the third floor, many individuals are attracted to the food court, where similar to Parker Place, there is a large variety of foods to choose from. In addition during this year's Chinese New Year Celebration, Aberdeen hosted a variety of events related to the festival. Although Aberdeen may not be as large or sophisticated as the malls in Hong Kong, many shoppers choose this mall because it is the closest resemblance to the malls in Hong Kong. For a more modernized shopping experience in a Chinese culture, Aberdeen will certainly satisfy your needs.
